Nancy O'Dell's first job in the broadcast industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell later worked at the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. She also works as co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's reported on The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes.
